Shakodo turned 2 years old today!

Gosh, it has been another year! And I admittingly totally neglected this very Blog. Sure I have an excuse, but then again, its just an excuse.

Shakodo just turned 2 years today. 2 years, thats quite amazing. Thank you everybody for your contributions, the site grows and grows and the content is incredible interesting and educating.

Yes, there are still photographers who work for a penny and yes, there are still clients who demand your work for free and photo credits. That probably will not change, but listening to what I hear from users, Shakodo helped a lot of photographers to negotiate fair prices for their work and made them finally understood their own worth. This alone makes me feel that I accomplished something with the site. But then again, all I really do is to run Shakodo and leave the occasional comment here and there. The real heroes of Shakodo are users just like yourself, who tirelessly answer questions and share their business experience right here.

Its quite easy to identify these users, since our integrated Reputation system works rather well and indicates how much the Shakodo community trusts them.

Lets introduce a few of these heroes, there is of course Jim Greipp of Paul Hana Productions, who currently has the highest Reputation on this entire site. And he deserves even more, because practically all his contributions are incredible helpful and I enjoy reading all of them, because even I can still learn a trick or two. Thanks Jim! Seth Resnick probably doesn't need an introduction, his advice here on the site is absolute invaluable. There is also an interview with Seth here in the Blog.

Then there is Tony Clark, whose opinion I value a lot, because he is very straight forward telling how it is. We need more Tony Clarks.

Tanya De Leeuw is a great contributor, because she shares what she just learned herself and its incredible interesting to be part of her journey.

Ashley Morrison contributed a lot of the standard language and templates for a variety of photo jobs, which made me throw away my own versions and replace with his, they are so much better.

Then there are Ric Tapia, MrPhoto, Missus, Steve Buchanan, Roger Loeb, Iris Richardson, Shazam, Alexis Evanoff and many, many more who permanently contribute and help out fellow photographers with their experience. Thank you all for making Shakodo such an incredible resource! Kudos to you all!
