Long ago, when dinosaurs ruled the world, I was a news photographer. Won some awards; made some money; met some important people; had a good time. Then I grew up :-) Photography was my entire life, but I missed eating regularly. Photography was relegated to a hobby, and I got a "real" job, raised two families, became a corporate executive, started a management consulting company, etc. When I (partially) retired, I returned to photography, but I limit my assignments to very special projects, primarily high profile, informal portraits and some forensic shoots. I also do some pro bono work, and I mentor a few young people. I'm a lifelong Nikon shooter. Still treasure my original black Nikon F, but now have a collection of D2X and D3 bodies and way too many lenses. Most of my comments here will be about being successful in business, i.e., making money.
